How theKiwi Lost itsWings

Long, long ago the Kiwi lived in the forest in the tree tops. Kiwi had very bright, colourful feathers. There were heaps more birds in the forest like Pukeko, Bellbird, Kaka, Fantail,Kakapo and Tui. One day there was a plague. The plague made all of the leaves turn yellow so Tane Mahuta gathered all of the birds together.
Tane Mahuta said to the birds , “One of you will have to go on the ground.” Then asked Cuckoo but Cuckoo said no because he was building a nest in the trees. He asked Morepork but Morepork said no because he loved the light. Next he asked Tui but he was afraid of enemies down there. After that he asked Pukeko but Pukeko said no because he liked his feet dry. Then he asked Kiwi and Kiwi said, “Yes. Yes, I will lose my bright wings because I love the forest>”
“All you others have been selfish. Cuckoo, you told me you were building a nest. Now you will never build another nest. You will share nests with other birds.”
“Morepork, you told me that you loved the light. Now you will live in the dark bits of the forest.”
“Tui, you told that you were afraid of enemies. From now on you will wear a coward’s feather.”
“Pukeko, you told me that you liked your feet dry. Now you will live at the swamp.”
From that day on Kiwi had no wings.

My weekend

On Sunday I did the duathlon. I was in the white group which is the lowest group.My brother was in the yellow group which is the second lowest group . I was the first one to finish in my group to finish the race.I was puffed at the end of the race.
